Recipe Corner: Dark Chocolate Ice Cream
Dairy Version:
Ingredients:
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup dark chocolate, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar and cocoa are dissolved.
Remove from heat and stir in the melted dark chocolate and vanilla extract.
Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Transfer to a container and freeze until firm.
Vegan Version:
Ingredients:
1 can full-fat coconut milk
1 cup almond milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup dark chocolate, melted (ensure it's dairy-free)
1 tsp vanilla extract
